Deskpad is a philosophy. It stands for the belief that technology can do immense good for society, but only when incorporated in the right way. We hope you can join us on our mission of safely adopting AI into education for the betterment of society.
All of our services are and will be completely free to use. We are a student-led movement and hold the belief that responsible adoption does not come with an ulterior motive.
Deskpad is comprised of three arms: Learn, Labs, and Policy
Each is independently operating, but all three are unified under the same core philosophy.
Deskpad Learn
We've built a really cool platform that enables teachers to bring AI into the classroom in a way that is transparent and preserves students' critical thinking. Deskpad also works inside Google Docs with our plugin. As per our mission, students never pay.
Deskpad Labs
We believe good research is as important as a good product. Our mission with Labs is to study how AI actually changes the way people learn and write, especially in K-12 education. We publish everything we find, even when those findings are inconvenient. Our work spans data-backed papers to AI benchmarks for education. We have multiple projects currently in motion. Stay tuned!
Deskpad Policy
Policy is about making AI in education student-centered, not just banned or unleashed. We help students hold onto their autonomy as the world automates, and we help schools bring AI in so it strengthens learning instead of offloading it. Longer term, we want to push for legislation that says the same, since the students most affected by these rules are almost never the ones consulted.
